Great Notley Garden Village Residents Association
Newsletter Number 7
Date : 21st. March, 1999.
This newsletter is to brief every resident in GNGV on the latest happenings in our region.
DISCOVERY CENTRE.
Attached to this newsletter is a photocopy of a letter received from Braintree D.C. which your committee were of the impression that all residents of Great Notley Garden Village had received .
Many residents have drawn the committee's attention to the fact that the original proposal for a Sports and Leisure Centre has not been provided. We would urge all residents to survey the plans at Causeway House in Braintree and make any observations as they feel appropriate.
MEMBERSHIP OF THE RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION.
We are pleased to advise all residents that they are automatically members of the Residents Assoc.
Your Chairman has negotiated with a large business concern to provide sponsorship and this is now in force. Resulting from this, those members who paid their subscriptions to our Treasurer will by now have received a full refund.
PROPOSED PUBLIC HOUSE/RESTAURANT.
We are currently awaiting further developments from Countryside plc. and when these become available the R.A. will circulate full details to the residents for their consideration and if requested by the community will organise another public meeting.
BEST KEPT VILLAGE COMPETITION.
It was announced at the last Parish Council meeting that Great Notley Garden Village has been entered for the above mentioned competion. We would hope that every effort will be made to ensure that the village is kept tidy and litter free with an abundance of coloured shrubs and flowers.
The qualifying period for this competition is during the months of April/May and June. It may be of interest to remind you that the village won the best "first time" entry last year.
