Introduction by Bert Rix, Secretary of the Great Notley Garden Village Residents Association.

We are pleased to announce to all our friends who are on the web how pleased we are to have joined them.

Information relating to the Residents Association should be directed to the Secretary, Bert Rix of 23, Highclere Road, tel:- 341066. Or Email Bert Here

The Residents Association was formed in the autumn of 1997 with the object of protecting the interests of the community by disseminating information and giving the residents a mouthpiece to express their concerns in protecting and improving the environment in which we all live.

This we have endeavoured to do by addressing matters drawn to our attention by members of the community, and by correspondence and news-letters / meetings.

It was our intention in the beginning, and still is to hold regular meetings in the Community Hall. In spite of our best efforts, this has not proved possible due to considerable pressure on bookings, not all of which are fundamental to the local community.

In spite of this we can claim successes in addressing problems drawn to our attention. In addition we have also supported Braintree District Council where appropriate.

The Residents Association have been exceedingly grateful for the support and sponsorship of Greene King through the agency of the proprietors of the Green Dragon Public House at Youngs End.

This has resulted in the Residents Association being able to function without local community subscriptions. The great benefit which the generosity of Greene King has bestowed on the local community is to obviate the need to ask for subscriptions because the practical labour in collecting subscriptions from such a large community would be impossible.
