Recycling on Great Notley Garden Village
Taking part is Simple.
In case you are new to the Village, here is a brief explanation. There is an excellent kerb side recycling scheme in operation within Braintree. Every fortnight recyclable materials are collected from right outside your home. Please help the environment by participating in this scheme. Just check the dates below, and fill the clear recycling bags provided by Braintree Council.
If you do not have any bags or require more bags, please call 01376 345598
If you are not new to the village, and do not already recycle, please try it for a month, and you will see how much can be recycled, and how much less rubbish you put out each week.
So what can be recycled, and what can't ?
Newspapers and Magazines
Currently only newsprint and magazines may be recycled, please do not include catalogues, brochures, directories, cardboard, or Junkmail. Do not mix with any items in the bag.
Food and Drinks cans
Please put all metal cans in one bag, please rinse cans, but don't waste hot water or detergent. Remember to recycle your pet food tins as well.
Textiles
Good quality clothes should first be given to local charity shops, but all other clean textiles should be recycled, including old duvets, and bed linen.
Plastic Bottles
These can be added to the same bag as your cans. Please remove any caps, empty and rinse out. Please do not include food packaging or other types of plastic.
Glass
Currently glass is not collected from the kerb side, but please use the facilities provided in the Tesco car park for all glass recycling.
